Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed both the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination.
Note: Candidates who have appeared or are yet to appear for the final M.B.B.S. exam are also eligible to apply provisionally.
Candidates who have not yet completed their compulsory rotating internship are eligible for admission but will only be appointed after completing it.
2. Age Limit (as of August 1, 2026)
General Limit: Must not have attained the age of 32 years (born not earlier than August 2, 1994).
For Medical Officers (Central Health Service): The upper age limit is 35 years.
Age Relaxation:
SC/ST: Up to 5 years.
OBC: Up to 3 years.
PwBD: Up to 10 years.
Ex-Servicemen: Up to 5 years.
3. Nationality
A candidate must be a Citizen of India, or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee (who arrived before Jan 1, 1962), or a person of Indian origin migrated from specified countries .
Total Vacancies
The total tentative number of vacancies is 1,358, distributed as follows:
Category-I:
Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub-cadre of Central Health Service: 864 posts.
Category-II:
Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways: 450 posts.
General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC): 14 posts.
General Duty Medical Officer Grade-II in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD): 30 posts.
Selection Process
Written Examination (500 Marks): Two objective-type papers, each carrying 250 marks and lasting two hours.
Personality Test (100 Marks): Conducted for candidates who qualify in the written examination.
Penalty for Wrong Answers: There is a negative marking of one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question for every incorrect answer.
