UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2026 Notification – Apply Online

Eligibility Criteria

• Nationality: Candidates must be a citizen of India for IAS, IFS, and IPS. For other services, certain exceptions apply for subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees.

• Educational Qualification: A candidate must hold a Graduate Degree from any recognized university. Candidates appearing for their final year exams are also eligible to apply for the Preliminary exam.

• Age Limit: Must be between 21 and 32 years of age as of August 1, 2026. (Relaxations apply for SC/ST/OBC and other specific categories) .

• Number of Attempts:

  • General/EWS: 6

  • OBC: 9

  • SC/ST: Unlimited

🎓 Educational Qualification

• Degree Required: A Graduate degree from a recognized University or equivalent professional/technical qualification.

• Final Year Students: Candidates awaiting results of their qualifying exam can apply for the Preliminary exam but must provide proof of passing for the Interview/Personality Test.

• Medical Students: MBBS students who have not completed their internship can be admitted provisionally but must show proof of completion by the interview stage.
