Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must possess a Law Graduate (LLB) degree from a recognized university.

  • The degree must be one that is mandatory for registration as an advocate to practice in court.

Age Limit (as of 01.08.2026)

  • Minimum Age: 21 years.

  • Maximum Age (Unreserved Male): 37 years.

  • Maximum Age (BC/EBC Male/Female & UR Female): 40 years.

  • Maximum Age (SC/ST Male/Female): 42 years.

Age Relaxation: Regular Bihar Government employees get up to 5 years of relaxation (max 5 attempts). PwD candidates receive a 10-year relaxation in the upper age limit.

Number of Vacancies

  • Unreserved (UR): 129 total posts, with 41 posts reserved for women.

  • Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 29 total posts, with 10 posts reserved for women.

  • Scheduled Caste (SC): 42 total posts, with 15 posts reserved for women.

  • Scheduled Tribe (ST): 07 total posts, with 02 posts reserved for women.

  • Extremely Backward Class (EBC): 64 total posts, with 22 posts reserved for women.

  • Backward Class (BC): 25 total posts, with 09 posts reserved for women.

Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Exam (Objective): Two papers—General Studies (100 marks) and Law (150 marks).

  2. Main Exam (Descriptive): Includes 8 papers, including Hindi, English, General Studies, and various Law subjects.

  3. Interview: 100 marks.
